The Sales Funnel For Effective Online Marketing

Apr 26

Since ancient times sales funnels have always been part of marketing and traditional business. Recently, it appears to me that the subject of using funnels to promote Internet business is popping up everywhere on the web.

Many people want to know more about the marketing concept and the ways it could be utilized in their online business marketing efforts. If you'd like to know something more about the sales funnel to help you with effective Internet marketing, I encourage you to continue reading.

The Sales Funnel - What exactly is it?

A marketing funnel does not actually refer to the concept of a funnel. In this case, the use of funnel is to visually describe the process of selling from beginning to its end. It has a broad entry point for potential customers known as "Unqualified Prospects" at the top, and a narrower opening for sales conversion at the lower end. It's a good comparison.

We may call these "unqualified prospects" at the top or entry of the funnel. These are the people who might need your products and services, but have not been contacted by you before. After several sales and promotions, you will have gotten customers who have bought your product or service.

Another reason why a lead-generation funnel idea is so efficient is that it lets you track potential prospects at different stages in the expanded sales process. The sales funnel allows you to predict the number of potential customers who will ultimately be customers by determining the qualified prospects at each stage.

A sales funnel allows you to determine exactly how and where your sales strategy is not working or succeeding, or if your campaign isn't getting a sufficient amount of prospective customers at any point within the process. This information allows you to decide where you should focus your attention and work to maintain sales at the required level, and, in turn, achieve your marketing objectives. It's used as a method to monitor and control the sales process of customers.

The top of the Sales Funnel or Front The Sales Funnel Front End

The top of your sales funnel should be the most active part of your sales funnel. This requires constant testing. There is no limit of front-end ideas. Your imagination and resources are the only limitations.

The front-end's main objective will be to draw in prospective customers and turn these buyers into buyers through the sales funnel.

When a prospect opts in or subscribes to the product or service you provide, they are "qualified". This is where the potential customer, also known as an "Unqualified Prospect" is now an "qualified lead. They've taken a step which suggests they might be interested in your product or service.

You must create targeted traffic to your blog, website or squeeze page in order for your front-end to work. PPC advertisements, article marketing, banners, PPC advertisements, social media (Google+ Twitter Facebook YouTube), YouTube, banners, blog posting forums, and many other sources are some of the most efficient methods and resources.

There are many ways to "qualify" an "unqualified potential customer. One of the most efficient is the squeeze page. Here you can offer something valuable that is related to your product/service that people can obtain for free or at a drastically reduced price in exchange of their email. There are many products available such as newsletters, videos, emails, courses, eBooks, and related reports.

We can see that the front-end is where people are attracted to your sales funnel. The back-end is what we need to focus on.

The Bottom or Back-End of The Funnel

The back-end (or bottom) of your sales channel is where the majority of profits and sales occur. It typically contains your highest priced products. These would all be related to the same subject, but in different formats such as video, audio or live interactions.

The main difference between front-end and the back-end is the kind of client, and also the price of the service or product being provided.

It's the case that only a small percentage, perhaps 1-2% of the total number of people entering your front-end, will end up in your back-end. This is because a select few people will spend a larger amount of money.

Although front-end products and services might be cheaper than $100, back-end services and products are usually priced at the range of hundreds to even thousands. This implies that the bottom of the sales channel which is also known as the back-end is the primary source of income.

Like I said the sales funnel can be as simple or as complicated as your creativity or resources allow.
