Make money by appearing on TV and movies
There are many ways to make money off your television and film appearances – and who wouldn’t want to see their name in lights?
Become an extra
Becoming an extra is remarkably easy. No need for professional training, just a few well-lit photos of yourself and an idea of your measurements and you’re good to go.
It’s not always glamorous – you often work long hours with early call times and late packing – but it can be great fun and a great way to make extra cash.
Usually, as an extra, they are only needed for a maximum of a few days per production and the work is booked according to the daily requirements.
Typically, you can expect to make anywhere from £ 80 to £ 100 for a 10 hour shift. However, this can increase if you have to work at night or interact with the main cast.
More information on how to become an extra can be found here.
Be a body double
Body doubles are models who act in scenes that actors don’t want to do, like nude scenes.
To be cast as a body double, you need to share the actor’s basic physical characteristics such as height, weight, body type, and hair color.
If you are interested in being a body double, the first thing you should do is join an agency that can help you find a job. For roles in the UK, GBM Casting is a good place to start.
Become a stunt double
OK, this one isn’t for everyone and won’t happen overnight. But if you love a rush of adrenaline why not try doubling up on stunts?
Typically, you will need to apply for the British Stunt Register’s stunt grading scheme. You need qualifications and skills in at least 6 different sports areas in 4 of the following groups:
- Fighting – martial arts or boxing
- Falling – trampoline jumping or diving up
- Riding and driving – riding, driving or motorcycling
- Flexibility and strength – gymnastics or climbing
- Water – swim or underwater
Make money modeling
Modeling is the obvious choice when it comes to making money off of your looks. However, don’t let the Victoria Secrets runways put you off. You don’t have to be Cara Delevingne to make money modeling.
For most agencies that require good looks, the requirements are generally large (the shortest height is around 5’6 inches for women and typically 5’10 inches for men), slim for catalog modeling, tinted and rubenesque for Oversizes.
Character modeling is great regardless of your size if you have interesting or unique features, from very short to lots of tattoos or piercings.
The agencies indicate on their website how to contact them. Usually you fill out an online form with your measurement data and attach a photo.
Prices vary widely based on experience and the client you work for. However, you can make around £ 40 an hour.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of fraud in the industry. So stay vigilant. Fake photographers and scouts always use would-be models. Never Agree To Get A Job!
Do your research and don’t get drawn into scam agencies or studios. Do you think your client list is too good to be true? It is possible.
Become a hand or foot model
All it takes to be a hand or foot model is flawless skin and even nail beds.
However, you will need to check with specific agencies such as B. at hired hands. Body modeling agencies can also work with bottoms and legs for advertising campaigns, jewelry, accessories, or retail products.
Your body parts need to be well cared for. A paper cut on your finger means you won’t get the gig!
When modeling body parts, models are also used as faces for makeup campaigns, so you can even model your eyes or lips on your own.
Earn money with your appearance as a sign of life model
Modeling life is easy. You take off your kit and pose while artists paint you. You can make around £ 10 an hour with it.
However, before you jump in, you need to consider if it is really for you
- You have to be comfortable with people staring at you intensely while you are naked!
- The sessions usually last around three hours with a few breaks. So you need to stay in the same position for a while.
It’s not uncommon to be asked to model with someone of the opposite sex.
If you are happy with all of this, your first stops should be local art schools and education centers. Also watch out for advertisements in shop windows, newspapers and on the internet.
Many are currently doing sessions with Zoom so you can pose from the comfort of your own home.
There is also a great website – The Arts Model Register – which acts as some sort of unofficial modeling union, and has jobs from all over the country.
Earn money with your presence as a social media influencer
This takes some dedication and won’t run you into thousands right away, but it can be a great way to make money off of your gig.
If you have a social media following of 1000+, you can classify yourself as a micro-influencer.
From here, you can reach out to brands to work on partnerships. Not all brands will pay you for it, but you should at least get some free samples.
As your fan base grows and you establish yourself, brands may reach out to you directly and offer a bigger payment.
Developing a niche will help you gain a following and it means brands are more likely to want to partner with you. To make money from your appearance, you may be able to focus on makeup or fashion.
Try out personal training online
This is the perfect option for anyone who loves to keep fit. Through personal training, you can share this passion with others and earn money at the same time. Obviously, it is easier to get customers when you are physically fit.
The gyms may be closed right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t become a personal trainer just yet. There is a great demand for online meetings.
they GOT TO You are legally registered with the insurance company and fully qualified to protect yourself from claims.
The National Register of Personal Trainers recommends certain companies that offer personal training qualifications.
It’s also worth checking out the registry for sports professionals who offer qualifications and can equip you with all the tools you need to get started.
Become a celebrity lookalike or impersonator
If your friends keep telling you that you look like a certain celebrity, this might be the job for you. If not, with a little makeup and a few props, you could be seeing a celebrity likeness in no time.
You need to get into the character first and take a few pictures to make sure you resemble the celebrity and to promote your services.
If you are serious, check out the Lookalikes agency. You can contact them and they can then take you over and help you get bookings as a lookalike.
Pay for a working day can range from £ 350 or more. This usually depends on your character and their popularity, but it also depends on your location.
To get the best prices, you need to be very similar to a celebrity, and maybe even have special skills, such as B. to be able to sing too.
